Interference of climate conditions in the durability of external coverings of mortar: analysis in situ in buildings of campus

Abstract

The deterioration of building façades may be related to weather elements. Understanding the joint action of rain, wind and sunshine is important for the prevention of pathological manifestations, thus guaranteeing the durability of the coatings. The problems related to these phenomena are diverse, among them the dimensional variation, which can cause cracks. The solar orientation and the presence of architectural details in the façades can provoke the existence of more humid points, which favors the deposition of pollutants and the proliferation of microorganisms, causing stains. In this way, in this work a survey will be carried out on buildings with the aim of quantifying and mapping the pathological manifestations present in their external coatings, as well as measurements of surface temperature and humidity in times of drought and rain seeking to relate them with the guidelines Cardinals, and thermographic images will also be performed during periods of drought and rain. The purpose of the research is to contribute to the understanding of the influence of climatic factors on buildings in the municipality of Presidente Prudente, which interfere in the durability of mortar coatings with decorative paint finish.
