Abstract

Inflammatory diseases constitute a complex and heterogeneous group of diseases, being an important cause of morbidity and mortality. In the present project, we intend to develop translational research in the area of inflammatory diseases. In addition, an association with chemical substances with training in molecular modeling and synthesis of molecules of development of new drugs for treatment of diseases. Our project consists of 03 subprojects: 1) infectious inflammatory diseases (Leishmaniasis, Chagas Disease, Paracoccidioidomycosis, Tuberculosis, Sepsis); 2) autoimmune inflammatory diseases (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Psoriasis, inflammatory bowel diseases and Pemphigus) and allergic (Asthma); 3) Atherosclerosis. The development of the project to identify new common biological targets for a greater number of inflammatory diseases mentioned above. For this, it can be concluded that the analysis of basic and clinical research is a contribution to the identification of new therapeutic targets common to the diseases studied. Specifically, we aim to: 1) recognize new molecular (genetic, intracellular signaling) and immunological (cellular) mechanisms involved in triggering, maintaining and maintaining diseases; 2) search for possible diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers; 3) identify new biological targets for the development of tools (drugs, antibodies, immunobiological, etc.) for the treatment of diseases; 4) parallel to the experimental models, studies performed with patient samples, which will support the data obtained in the experimental models; 5) we simulate genomic and proteomic analyzes in experimental models and patient samples, which also provide significant evidence, complementing a search for new therapeutic targets. Studies on genetic polymorphism in patients; and 6) to develop (via model and synthesis) new molecules for the treatment of diseases. The synthesized molecules are tested for efficacy of the experimental models and subjected to concept tests in samples obtained from patients. Having therapeutic potential, they will endeavor to register, perform stability tests, pharmacokinetics, preclinical toxicology, and clinical trials that will be applied at HC-FMRP-USP. (AU)
