Abstract

The robotic field tries, as one of its functions, to stimulate knowledge and learning in science for kids, teenagers and adults. The Robot World Cup Initiative (RoboCup) emerged in this context, but to stimulate the Artificial Intelligent (AI) area using robot soccer to improve and train the knowledge in a pleasantly way. In this research project, the real humanoid robot was built using the Bioloid ROBOTIS Premium platform. The main target of this robot is to play soccer in the Kid Size category of RoboCup Soccer League. Also, it should be able to identify all elements in the soccer field, such as the ball, the field itself, crossbars of the goal, the opponent players and the teammates. Thus, the identification should be performed using image processing through some AI technique to be defined during the development of this project. Therefore, in order to make this task possible, the robots use a PIXY camera installed on its head with two servomotors responsible for allowing the robot to have a horizontal and vertical vision field of 180 degrees. This camera should process the image and send the position and distance of the object to the Raspberry Pi, responsible to control all the servomotors of the robot. (AU)
