Abstract

The link between increased particle pollution and atmospheric processing has been proposed as one of more health relevant PM issue. To Access the chemical composition of aerosol is essential to apportion sources and figure out the contribution of secondary processes to atmospheric particle levels. The chemical characterization of secondary species for Brazilian environment reality is almost scarce. In this work and training internship, particle sampling from urban background and forest environment will be characterized. This research will quantify the effect of anthropogenic and biogenic source in secondary aerosol, as well will identify the contribution of precursors sources. Further, total secondary source will be described in two ambient. Use of sensitive analytical techniques such as thermo-optical analysis for organic and elemental carbon, ion chromatography for water-soluble ions, will allow a comprehensive characterization and subsequent development of profiles for this important PM source.
