The synthesis of perovskite quantum dot hetero/nanostructured materials and the study of their physical properties have been of great interest in recent years due to numerous technological applications. In this project, we intend to put an effort on synthesis and physical properties characterization on high bandgap perovskites quantum dots which are the bases for photovoltaic devices. Low cost and high efficiency are important aspects involving the technological applications. We will pay attention to the synthesis of cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) and cesium lead iodide (CsPbI3) nanocrystals, which have recently become more attractive due to their structural stability at high temperature (above 100°C) as compared to the methylammonium perovskites. In fact, the structural stability of CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 are highly correlated with their crystal structures. The ability to synthesize a variety of nanostructured CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 will enable us to further explore the important parameters that dictate the stability of these materials and ultimately their photovoltaic performance in solar cells.
