The transformations that have occurred in the last decades in Brazilian agriculture have profoundly altered the forms of production and life in the countryside. Among these transformations, we highlight as the main vector of this process the productive restructuring of agriculture, which in its broadest sense caused a true spatial dispersion of production, aggravating the emergence of new productive arrangements. The emergence of new systems of agricultural production provokes a new organization of the territory, based, among other characteristics, by the emergence of functional cities in the agricultural sector. In these cities there is a real expansion of activities related to the agricultural and agroindustrial sectors, promoting significant socio-spatial changes, giving a new conception to the articulations that now occur between the countryside and the city. The complexity of the functions of the urban network is closely linked to the modern field, with productive consumption being the main reason for the increase of the economy, urbanization and, consequently, the restructuring of agricultural and urban spaces. Thus, the objective of this work is to analyze the agroindustry of meat processing and its relation with the consumption components, particularly in the city of Chapecó, aiming to understand the role of productive consumption in the rural-city dynamics, of the productive fabric adopted by agroindustry In the west of Santa Catarina. In this scenario, productive consumption faces constraints to its expansion, especially in view of the vulnerabilities imposed by the poultry and pork processing industry.
