This project continues the research initiated in the academic master's degree in Information Science, which sought contributions from the area of Information Design. It was possible to determine that Information Design has solid theoretical and practical foundations capable of positively contribute to enhance the performance of information professionals. The problem revolves around the effective presentation and representation of information, because there is convergence of different languages with distinct syntax. The purpose of this study is to better understand and comprehend the ways in which information professionals in undergraduate courses may use Information Design in the creation and provide access to information, focusing on effectiveness and efficiency of comunication, in physical or digital information environments. Our thesis defends the idea that Information Design can be applied by undergraduate information science students and generate results relevant to Information Science area and to it's users on the contemporary society. It is characterized as an exploratory study, with theoretical and experimental approach. The Quadripolar Method it's used to operationalize the research combined with Action-research. The result will be in the form of an appropriate model of Information Design discipline, focused on the Information Science area, aimed at the development of academic, scientific, social and technological aspects of their professionals.
