Abstract

The relationship between work and health and attention to workers' health are objects of recent concern that need greater visibility and understanding in Brazil. In this sense, the project aims to deepen the knowledge regarding the recent territorial expansion of some of the main Brazilian agricultural commodities (soy, sugar cane, pulp, chicken and beef) and their unfolding for the health of the workers. Some of the new areas of expansion of the main agricultural monocultures and the production of beef and chicken will be prioritized as a spatial research cut. Due to its breadth, in methodological terms the research will be centered on the collection and systematization of bibliography on the subject, prioritizing the results of research already completed or underway within the scope of the CEGeT Network of Researchers, and the Collective CETAS of Researchers, as well as in the collection, tabulation and analysis of secondary data available in general databases specific to each highlighted productive segment, and those provided by the two main official sources of data on labor injuries in Brazil: Social Security and SINAN-SUS. Eventually, fieldworks and semi-structured interviews will be used as a way to broaden the understanding of the object and dissolve possible doubts and questions raised. At the end of the research, we expect to reach two main products: the organization and publication of a collection on the subject, gathering texts from several researchers dedicated to its various forms of expression, and building a database on diseases in the indicated activities, to being made available to the academic community, public institutions, and interested public in general.
