Abstract

Given the difficulty to find specific drugs which can treat pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) efficiently, this project aims to identify molecular targets that may sensitize pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. To achieve this goal and provide additional information regarding PDAC biology, this project will investigate the negative feedback mechanisms involved in MAPK signaling activation mediated by Dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs). Therefore, it proposes to evaluate whether the modulation of specific DUSPs presents any sensitizing potential against gemcitabine in pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell lines. (AU)
