Neglected diseases composes the group of diseases caused by infectious agents or parasites, Leishmaniasis one of whose exponents. Visceral, more serious, it has some medications that are used for treatment, but the recurrence and fatality rates are still high, in addition to severe side effects. Research conducted with lipid chemical mediators endogenously biosynthesized as resolvins demonstrated pro-resolution activities; that way, as there is no more extensive studies on the effects of resolvin in protozoosis, this project aims to evaluate the participation of RvD1 in control of Leishmania infantum chagasi and nitric oxide production during the experimental infection in macrophages in vitro. RvD1 that will be used in the research was kindly provided by Prof. Dr. Alexander Paula Rogerio Federal University of Triangulo Mineiro (UFTM), in partnership with Prof. Dr. Bruce David Levy of Harvard University (USA).
