Abstract

This project aims to raise, select and analyze the Goan manuscripts in Portuguese language and inventoried in a single issue, by the Jesuit Father Pio Pecchai in 1938-39, called Vertenze coi bramani Chierici (1646) and kept in the General Archives Romano the Society of Jesus, known as Archivium Romanum Societatis Jesu (ARSI). Goa, the Portuguese colony of India, lived more than four centuries (1510-1961) under colonial rule and is a privileged historic-cultural space, placed between two cultures (Portuguese and Indian), a rich and challenging space. The project aims to create a corpus of primary sources by conducting an identification sheet will that will facilitate access to this manuscripts, by students, teachers and researchers and simultaneous their study will contribute to the recovery of the literary memory genesis and linguistic lived in this unique context between cultures. The adoption of a transparent and scrupulous method analysis in which the competence of the linguistic-cultural mutual understanding plays a key role is the basis of this work. It is intended to contribute thus to the organization of a literary sector dedicated to the origins of Goan Literature in Portuguese, recovering and reintegrating the number of works written by Goans in Portuguese and demonstrating the action of opposition to colonial rule by the Goan natives has its roots in the seventeenth century. Included is still in this work the preparation of an edition of the identified sources accompanied by a facsimile or digital reproduction. (AU)
