Abstract

Public health policies have recommended the inclusion of preventive actions in Primary Health Care in order to prevent and control diseases that may endanger the health of the population. The application of these actions depends on a number of structural factors and human resources in health units, which can determine the existence or not of these preventive actions. Knowing its existence and its features can collaborate to further understand the impact on improving the health of the population as well as the possible health costs. This study aims to identify the existence of preventive action in the Primary Health Care in São Carlos and its operating characteristics. This is a survey study, cross-section and descriptive developed in 14 Basic Health Units and 15 in the Family Health Units in São Carlos, SP, in the last five years. The instrument that is going to be used will be a tab with data from existing interventions. They will be recorded in a spreadsheet in excel data collected from what was filled in the registration form of preventive actions. It is expected as results of the study that there are approximately one to two preventive actions in each health unit of primary care, mostly with women target audience over 40 years, using alternative materials or with little resources, weekly frequency twice, in distant times of lunch break, with limited or not adequately skilled resources, and with little frequency control participants.
