Enunciative praxis and the emergence of a new form of life: a study about the construction of the actor "househusband" in texts of the Brazilian culture

Abstract

Using the theoretical-methodological apparatus of French semiotics, this research project sets as its general objective to contribute to recent investigations concerning the role of the enunciative praxis in the emergence of new forms of life. As its specific objective, the project proposes to investigate the emergence of the form of life of the actor "househusband" within the Brazilian culture, establishing as its basis the examination of the discursive strategies used by different enunciators, whether in the literary, in the advertising or in the journalistic sphere. This way, the project, firstly, aims at understanding how different enunciators summon up the moral values, which are deposited by usage in the "cultural imaginary" of Brazilian society and which rule the feminine and masculine behaviors in this society. Secondly, it aims at figuring out how these moral values are realized, recovering this "cultural imaginary" or how they are potentialized, enabling the manifestation of new values, which come from a personal ethics that is the founder of a new form of life. On that note, the project is doubly relevant: in the first place, because it follows, directly or indirectly, the recent debates about the changes of behavior of men and women in contemporary society. In the second place, because it bases itself in the concepts of enunciative praxis and form of life, which are considered today one of the most important questioning fields to the consolidation of semiotics in the center of the social and human sciences.
