Abstract

This study aims to reflect about intercultural issues that emerge in the Portuguese as a Forign Language (PFL) educational process in the context of a language center, from our experience as a teacher-trainee. Therefore, we propose to examine the teaching materials developed for students of the courses offered by the Center of Languages and Teacher Development at UNESP/Assis in order to evaluate the intercultural implications of this process. Thus, this project is based on the following research questions: a) what intercultural aspects emerge in the teaching materials developed for PFL at the Center of Languages and Teacher Development courses; b) the implications of intercultural issues in the preparation of these materials. As a data collection instrument, we will use the teaching materials produced for the PFL classes, recordings of language orientation meetings (with the teacher responsible for the project), reflective activities recorded in diaries, which will be analyzed from an intercultural approach to teaching language and from the perspective of narrative inquiry in Education.
