Dialogues between Psychoanalysis and Dictatorship: A study on the brazilian psychoanalytic publications in dictatorial times.

Abstract

This doctorate project is part of a broader study, result of a partnership between the Psychology Institute of USP and the Psychossocial Department of Birkbeck. It investigates, mainly, the phenomenon of consolidation and development of Psychoanalysis in Brasil, mainly during the period of civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985) (FAPESP Process 2015/11244-3). With the aim of contributing on the historiography studies about the Psychoanalysis in Brasil, this project seeks to deepen and give continuity to a study that has begun in 2013, in her máster dissertation submitted in the English department mentioned above. The research focuses in understanding, through the document analysis of the literature field, the way in which the psychoanalytic societies positioned themselves during the dictatorship and how they interacted with the wider social reality, investigating casual movements of questioning and transformation of brazilian Psychoanalysis in the social field. The research also aims to investigate the nature of these publications, aiming to map line of studies, themes, psychoanalytic schools, among other aspects that inform something about the characteristics of this scientic publications.
