Attendance given to children and teenagers victims of intrafamiliar sexual harassment from the point of view of the professionals of the social assistance specialized reference center (CREAS)

Abstract

Domestic violence occurs when the perpetrator of violence has some degree of kinship or emotional involvement with the victim. The impact on the health of children and adolescents has been the subject of numerous studies in the field of public health, demonstrating that this is a high prevalence and significant impact phenomenon in mental and physical health of these and reproduce generation after generation. One type of family violence against children and adolescents who have received the most attention is sexual, which still represents a major challenge for the health sector and other protection sectors to these actors, for the recognition and monitoring of this event are hampered by social, emotional, psychological and cultural factors. Cities have bodies that receive notifications of this violence, as Guardianship Council, police stations, and the city of Uberlândia - MG, Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (CREAS) is the organ of medium complexity that offer support to these individuals and their families through actions from continuing. It justifies the importance of knowing the impact of this service in the lives of children and adolescents who are served by this service, to rethink the practices carried out by this team and thus better support existing policies of prevention and protection for this public. Thus, we bring as an object of study the care provided by Professional CREAS to children and adolescents victims of sexual violence. We understand that at this moment, to know the impact of this service on the lives of victims, according to the look of the professionals who meet these cases allows re-evaluate care practices that are being used and propose methods that can improve the quality of life of victims through most appropriate intervention to the context of these subjects. The aim of this study is to understand the meanings that professionals attribute to the care provided in CREAS to children, adolescents and their families in situation of sexual violence in the city of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, detailing CREAS and characteristics of its professionals, describing and analyzing the care provided to children, adolescents and their families involved in intra-family sexual violence, from the perspective of professionals CREAS, to build an integrative care to this population. With a qualitative approach, data collection will be done by conducting focus groups, semi-structured interviews and documentary research. Data analysis will be anchored in the Paradigm of Complexity, and directed by understanding and contextualization of data through the following steps: classification and organization of the information collected; organization of references; and establishing relationships between data. The results reinforce the paradigm shift to the eye and, consequently, for the care of these children, adolescents and their families involved in sexual violence intrafamily, pursuing the construction of responses and more effective intervention projects with these actors, and the promotion individual and community empowerment.
