Abstract

Corn (Zea mays) is detached from the grains to present high global importance due to its chemical composition, nutritional value and its production potential, thus presenting considerable relevance in the socio-economic aspects. Several factors interfere with the performance of culture and, among them, the climate is among those offering the biggest challenges for planning and management culture. Given the importance of the culture in national and global context, it is important to consider the future projections of production grain on climate change and consequently on food security in next years. Thus, we intend to evaluate the climate change impact on the growth and development of maize using a growth model plants, based on biophysical processes for the producing region of Piracicaba, with this, the project seeks to contribute by providing relevant information to maize front global climate change, as well as growth models studies of cultures in Brazil.
