The second-generation ethanol can be produced from bagasse and straw cane sugar, residual lignocellulosic raw material for sugar and ethanol production process. During the conversion processes of lignocellulosic waste, via enzymatic and / or acid hydrolysis to obtain compounds of interest (glucose, fructose, xylose and others), some undesirable products are formed, such as phenolic compounds (ferulic acid and 4 hydroxybenzoic acid) which are formed by the partial chemical decomposition of the lignin and, in certain amounts, reduce the conversion rate of carbohydrates into ethanol. The project in question aims at the development of new electrochemical sensors for determination of ferulic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in lignocellulosic materials from sugar cane, based on composite graphite electrodes with carbon nanotubes and molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) of aniline, made by electropolymerization. These sensors are made of MIPs, which may enable the direct application in hydrolyzed lignocellulosic material with high possibility of simultaneous analysis, quick to miniaturized and portable systems, as well as online application of sensors in ethanol production processes second generation.
