Abstract

In a society where everything happens quickly, it is important rapid and objective responses in analysis of various segments. Drugs in general, especially the tetracycline family (antibiotic) is present as contaminant of environment. In this context, electrochemical sensors are alternatives for the determination of tetracycline in environmental and industrial samples. On the other hand, the use of nanomaterials in electroanalysis can present better results, better accuracy and lower detection limits. Carbon black is an interesting nanomaterial for using in the modification of electrodes because of its properties, such as good conductivity and low cost. Potato starch is a biopolymer that can be used in the production of films, obtaining as a result as a material with excellent mechanical properties and a good homogeneity of surface; In the present work, we propose the modification of a glassy carbon electrode using carbon black and potato starch. It is expected that the modified electrode shows good results for the determination of tetracycline antibiotics in pharmaceutical and environmental samples.
