Abstract

Recently, computer systems such as Internet of Things and mobile devices have attracted much attention, fueled largely by the growing interest in smart and specialized solutions. Such systems aim to approach the connection between physical and virtual objects, enabling the collection, exchange, storage of a large mass of data, which when processed become information and services. With the technological progress in the areas of embedded sensors and systems, solutions involving the Internet of Things scenario became feasible. However, with the ease of access to this information, major challenges are launched as issues related to information security and privacy. These challenges require the development of a specific set of cryptographic protocols and algorithms for the safety of these computer systems, ensuring reliability, integrity, and privacy information. In this sense, it will be proposed in this research project, the implementation and evaluation of different lightweight cryptographic algorithms, analyzing performance and power consumption, to later compare them with other related works in the literature.
