Abstract

National aquaculture, increased by 9.85% between 2004 and 2014, generating a PIB of 4 billion/year, highlighting the cages fish farming, and Oreochromis niloticus (Nile tilapia) the main species in cultivation. However, there are problems related to this activity, as the high price of feed and lack of juveniles. Thus, studies aimed at reducing costs and increasing the supply of juveniles are important and may enable the entry of small producers in the market. The use of natural food, such as periphyton can be an alternative for lower costs. The aim of this proposal is to evaluate the use of periphyton by juveniles of O. niloticus in tanks dug system and its effects on muscle total protein. This proposal will follow the project "Boas práticas de manejo na produção de juvenis de tilápias do Nilo" processo Fapesp nº 2016/07696-9. Juveniles reversed will be used, with an initial average weight of 2 g and ended when they reach mass average of 40 g. The experiment will include treatments with bamboo substrate for growth of periphyton and without substrate with 50% and 100% of the recommended feed with 3 replications per treatment. Three collections will be held (beginning, middle and end of the experiment), by sampling 10 fish each. For dietary assessment, will be used Alimentary Index (AI) and statistical analysis PERMANOVA two way, complemented by SIMPER analysis. For protein analysis, will be used colorimetric method, applied two-way ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis test. The level of significance will be p<0.05 and statistical tests will be conducted through the Bioestat and 5.0 Past 3.0 softwares. (AU)
