Abstract

This project seeks to address the housing issue from the theoretical approach of the relationship between agents of market in the production of urban space and public policy. The problem to be faced concerns to the financialisation process that changed the logic of provision and production of housing. In addition, the dimension of sustainability was also spread worldwide, guiding regulations and practices related to housing construction. In this sense, this project hypothesizes that such processes have altered the relationship between actors, regulations, financing and production of housing, becoming global trends in the advanced capitalism, although there are still specific trajectories in different countries. This hypothesis will be pursued from two main research approaches. The first one, using the review of the international literature, especially French, seeks to deepen the theoretical knowledge about financialisation and the interaction of actors in the production of urban space and of housing in particular. The second approach has an empirical object, that is, housing operations with green labels and promoted by public and private agents in the city of Lyon. I will be developed a documentary research and a fieldwork, seeking to characterize the actors, the institutional and financial regulations, and practices of management and production. The expected results of this project can contribute to the academic debate on financialisation, sustainability and housing, and also for the development of policies, programs and housing projects that include an articulation of different agents and financial funds and architectural practices of civil construction that emphasize the quality and the environmental dimension.
