Abstract

Taking as clipping the paulista medium-sized city of Ribeirao Preto, we intend to analyze how technological innovations and changes in locational patterns of trade and service enterprises result in changes in urban structure and intraurban centrality, as result of these processes. We believe that the centrality is not defined by location, but the links between the locations being expressed by relations and spatial interactions. Thus, the role of the flows in the dispersion and polarization of action is what determines the centrality (WHITACKER, 2003). From the informational technical and scientific means the technical install a new dynamic, making the dissemination of information a key factor for companies, thereby increasing the exchange of material and immaterial flows, which become juxtaposed or superimposed. In this way, we aim at the analysis of central a double process: a) concentration of activities and uses and occupation (quantitative and qualitative component) and the informational density (qualitative and quantitative component) by means of an information density index for commercial and service establishments (WHITACKER, 2003), in our case, will consist of indicators such as the use of business processes related to information technology, computing and dissemination in social networks the internet (Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest) and applications (Instagram and Whatsapp) that bring together people with varied interests, being a virtual showcase and important marketing tool; b) a double and complementary analytical perspective: the density of the territory (SANTOS, 1996); and informational density of enterprises.
