The research project entitled Palinode and serialization: a study of metalinguistic procedures in poetry (Palinódia e seriação: estudo de procedimentos metalinguísticos na poesia), as the title informs, has as its aim the study of palinode and serialization, such being a snippet of a broader ongoing research project since 2014 concerning the ones mentioned above and some other five metapoetic procedures: ekphrasis, frame, lyricism, grotesque and intertextuality. The reason for choosing palinode and serialization is due to the scarcity of theoretical pieces of working in Brazilian Literature, despite having been stated in previous studies its considerable relevance in analyses of contemporary Brazilian poems. These justify the proposed research and bibliography selected, as well as the considerations concerning the self-reflective and self-referential content of these procedures. The bibliographic research done so far has shown the existence of an array of analytical and critical studies in metapoetry, but the same was shown in relation to theoretical studies in metapoetry and some of its fundamentally metalinguistic procedures. It is possible to infer that the intertextual, grotesque and lyric studies gather expressive bibliography whereas the other procedures (ekphrasis, frame, palinode and serialization), maybe because of their intersemiotic feature, do not show equal relevance in literature and poetry studies. Therefore, throughout the research and development stage, theoretical and critic bibliography was gathered on palinode and serialization, aiming at getting to know about these metalinguistic phenomena in order to adopt the theoretical path of investigation of its critical-reflexive facet and of its type of presence in poetic texts.
