This project aims to the preparation, by spray pyrolysis, and the analysis of the catalytic potential of nanopowders based on niobates with tetragonal tungsten bronze structure of KSr2Nb5O15 stoichiometry. This project is linked to the research project in progress funded by FAPESP, "Catalytic Performance as a Function of Nanostructuring of New Oxides Catalysts From The Spray Pyrolysis Method" - Process: 2014/11189-0. The spray pyrolysis method is based on pyrolysis of an aerosol produced by ultrasonic atomizer. The mounting of the system for the synthesis via spray pyrolysis had the collaboration of the Profa. Elisabeth Djurado of the Laboratoire d'Electrochimie et de Physico-chimie des Matériaux et des Interfaces de Grenoble - France. However, all this system was mounted with national technology. The nanoparticles will be characterized by X-ray diffraction, with the refinement of structural parameters by Rietveld method, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). For evaluation of the catalytic activity of powders will be carried out the textural characterization by the N2 adsorption using the BET. The catalytic potential, to obtaining biodiesel, of nanoparticles of KSr2Nb5O15 will be investigated from vegetable oils. The catalytic activity will be evaluated as a function of time and temperature of the catalyst in the reaction mixture, molar ratio of oil / alcohol and amount of catalyst. Thus, technology transfer, under this project, and studies of materials synthesized by spray pyrolysis are of great importance for the production of biodiesel. (AU)
