Abstract The research investigates the connections between religious practices and political agendas of sexual rights, including gay marriage, civil unions and gay and lesbian families. The aim is to examine pedagogies of sex and marital life in gay and lesbian congregations in Brazil. The project investigates political activism and religious rituals, trying to understand the marital and parenting experiences lived by gay men and lesbians, and transgender people. The proposal is justified because of recurrent public testimony wedding, civil union pacts, reproduction and adoption of children by same-sex couples in the gay and lesbian congregations. | |
