Abstract

This project aims to understand how the idea of sexual violence against children and adolescents operate and is built in so-called "contexts of social vulnerability". It aims to understand how categories, rules and forms of interventions are built from conducting ethnographic fieldwork in two favelas of Rio de Janeiro - Morro da Providencia and Complexo do Muquiço - and monitoring the network for guarantee of rights in their municipal, state and federal levels. In this process it aims to analyse the category "social vulnerability" The project aims to describe the ways in which the broad concept of violence can be understood , not seeing it as a unique and closed notion, but also relational and contingent. Finally , this project will also enter the field of debates about the ways in which the state tactically governs and administers suffering and violence in contexts considered the margins of society and in which the state itself seems at first to be absent.
