Abstract

In this master project we propose the growth and characterization of heterostructures composed by bylayers of superconductor and ferroelectric/multiferroic materials. Our goal is to modify the transport properties of the heterostructure by means of an electrical potential, injecting charges in the superconductor layers through the electrical polarization of the interfaces. In this way, one can control the electrons or holes doping of the superconducting layers, and change their superconductor transition temperature. In collaboration with the other group members, the samples will be studied from the structural and transport point of view with traditional techniques (X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, dielectric susceptibility and electric polarization). This project will involve the studend mostly in the sample growth.
