In the last decades, there was a sharp increasing of the thermal loads and the energy consumption of office buildings, which became a significant portion of the whole energy consumption of the cities. This process is closely related to a large-scale implementation of the air-conditioning system as the foremost acclimatization strategy. An alternative for this method, that shows a significant potential for reducing energy consumption, is the mixed-mode system, which consists in the combination of natural ventilation and air conditioning. This research aims to analyze the energy performance of low and medium standard office buildings located in the city of São Paulo, that use hybrid conditioning systems. Therefore, it will be carried out a survey and a selection of architectural parameters by the construction of a database of existing projects. Then, computer simulations will be used to evaluate the range of the energy performance resulted from the selected parameters and analysis intervals. The quantification of performance will be made from the following variables: thermal loads and energy consumption. The project aims, therefore, to carry out an energy analysis of the main architectural parameters of office buildings located in the city of São Paulo and it is expected, thereby, to support architects to develop strategies in using hybrid ventilation in this building typology.
