Abstract

The research project intends to develop a new methodology for the production of halo-substituted anhydrides and 1,4,5,8-naphthalene imides to obtain organic materials of great importance. The method involves halogenation from low cost affordable reagents: N-bromosuccinimide and KI. The optimization of the method will be done by variations in the proportion of the reactants, reaction temperature and inert atmosphere use or not. The products will be characterized by usual methods of analysis of organic compounds. Derivatives and these aggregation studies will be made by Fluorescence and UV-vis, analyzing the effect of functional groups on gelation processes. Photochemical tests with the hybrid materials formed by ZnO and SnO nanoparticles and aromatic imides will be carried out for the photodegradation of dyes and, later, photo-derivation of the glycerol.
