Activities of daily life of women with breast cancer undergoing mastectomy conserving surgery

Abstract

The project's overall objective to evaluate the activities of daily life of women with breast cancer who underwent mastectomy and conservative surgical process. This is an intervention study, descriptive and exploratory, almost experimental design, with a quantitative approach. It will be run by the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu - UNESP - Botucatu, whose subjects are women who underwent conservative surgery and mastectomy at the Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu, referred to "follow up" at the Clinic of Gynecology UNESP (Botucatu and other cities in the DRS VI with referral to physiotherapy sector of said hospital. the sample size calculation was made considering that the prevalence of quality of life, anxiety and depression and activities of life Daily for women who underwent mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery is unknown (50%) with a margin error of 10% and reliability of 98%, a minimum sample size is 96 patients who will be divided into two groups of 40 patients (mastectomies and conservative surgery). The subjects are women diagnosed with of breast cancer patients undergoing conservative surgery and mastectomy residents in Botucatu or the 69 municipalities served by UNESP that are referenced via the Regional Health Department of Bauru - DRS VI.
