Abstract

Facing the current concern with climate change, multiple efforts have been made to investigate different sedimentological, geochemical and paleontological proxies that are known for recording past changes of the ocean environment, because only understanding past climate variations will be possible to anticipate and forecast climate changes in the future. The use of proxies, such as benthonic foraminifera, to study the variability of paleoproductivity has been commonly used. The objective of this project is to verify the variations of paleoproductivity in the southern region of the Santos Basin during the last deglacial period.
