Aspects of recent urbanization in Brazil from the analysis of the cities Caçapava, Jacareí, São José dos Campos and Taubaté

Abstract

This work aim to analyse the morphological and socio-economic aspects of the recent urbanization, understanding them as the indicators of the social dinamic connected to the production of the city space. As case of study, will be analysed the cities of Caçapava, jacareí, São José dos Campos and Taubaté, that belong to the Metropolitan Region of the Paraiba Valley and North Coast and that are in a process of expansion and conurbation, pretending to understand the dinamic spatial that is being created between them. On the point of view of the moethod, I started with the assumption that the spacial phenomenon is a consequence of the indissociables relationships that have been established between the social dinamic and the objects which produces the concrete dimension of the landscape and the territory. I suggest that, seeing with that point of view, the analytical perspective of this work comprehend two different approaches. First, a picture of the current socio-economic and morphological posture will be prepared based on the urbanization phenomenon. After that, the research of explanations for the recent juncture from the bibliographic research will be made. The documental source for the study of the historic evolution is a statistic serie of the demographic census about the cities of Caçapava, Jacareí, São josé dos Campos and Taubaté that is being studied by the national network of the QUAPA-SEL research.
