Abstract

It is about the study and computational implementation of a mathematical model for the cancer cell growth response to the ionizing electromagnetic radiation. Its novelty is the use of in vitro biological data of the radiotherapy effect in MCF-7 cancer cell cultures (human breast cancer). The project is aligned with a research of the advisor in which there are scientific collaborations in radiotherapy and experimental cancer biology areas valuing the interdisciplinary among mathematics, computer science, biology an physics. A potential use of the modeling is the elucidation of radiotherapy mechanisms of inhibition of cell growth.
