Abstract

Among the most important and more elaborate steps in population genomics study of plant species using Next Generation Sequencing are processing and data analysis. This process requires addition of advanced computational resources, knowledge and domain-specific Bioinformatics tools to the techniques applied in this project. In Brazil, this area has been underexplored and lacks researchers in the genomics of adaptation area, a recent field that was driven by the advent of next generation sequencing. For this reason, this proposal aims to grant is awarded to the internship with Dr. Julian Catchen, assistant professor at the University of Illinois, United States, excellence in Bioinformatics applied to Population Genomics and excellence in the development of the main tools used in these methods today. This internship is going to enable the student to the development of this step of their research and enable the implementation of this area in the research group. (AU)
