Abstract

The interest in the development of sensors has grown over the years, since it can be produced low cost devices that provide accurate answers. The use of metal nanoparticles in the construction of modified electrodes has extended due to their electrochemical characteristics that aid in better sensitivity. In this context, TiO2 nanotubes are materials that exhibit thermodynamic, electrical and chemical characteristics that are interesting for its use in electrochemical sensors. Tapioca is a material with high load of starch and intrinsic characteristics that can provide nanostructured films, hence, it can be used for attaching nanomaterials in modified electrodes. Electrodes based nanomaterials have been developed for the detection of various analyses, including hormones. Both in environmental and medical field, the study and detection of hormones are important. Estradiol presents is estrogen that can be related with a variety of diseases, so, the goal of this project is the development of a modified electrochemical sensor with TiO2 nanotubes using tapioca as a sticky biofilm, for the detection of 17²-estradiol hormone in various biological matrices, such as urine, serum and water samples.
