Abstract

This project of Scientific Iniciation has as focus on the development of a comparative analysis of discourses about the perspectives of maternal language in two different ethno-linguistic communities: Brazil and United States. With this purpose, it was chosen as theoretical basis the works of the Bakhtin's Circle, with focus in the sociological method present at the 1920's works. The corpus is made with five utterance of the Brazilian newspaper "Folha de S.Paulo" and five of the American newspaper "The New York Times". We will try to point the similarities and differences between both ethno-linguistics communities, what are they and how they express their selves, through the analysis of those utterances and their interrelationships with surroundings contexts: the social historical ideological situations, which are materialized in the evaluative accents of the verbal and nonverbal dimensions.
