Abstract

In recent years, the use of distributed generation of electricity has increased considerably in function, the absence of adequate transmission capacity limitations in the construction of new transmission lines and electricity markets emerging, which have been the main driving forces of this new paradigm. This new generation allows the installation of small-scale generators at the power distribution network, close to end users. This form of generation, also known as smart grid, integrates and employs renewable energy to assist in the mitigation of adverse environmental impacts arising from the centralized generation based on fossil fuels or hydroelectric sources. Within this context, the photovoltaic solar energy has attracted the attention and considerable investments in various countries, since it presents itself as a source of clean energy, inexhaustible and with less environmental impact compared to traditional sources, and may contribute to the increase of power quality of distribution system, strategic theme these days, compensating, through smart photovoltaic inverters the harmonic distortion caused by non-linear loads and the reactive energy of highly inductive loads, increasing the power factor of the transmission system. The objective of this research is to study academic masters, improve and implement a topology of three phase photovoltaic inverters for control of reactive power in distribution network for active power factor compensation and, consequently, to the increase in power quality at the site of the installation of the plant.
