Abstract

Membranes that assist in guided bone regeneration process has been one of the research strands in bone repair. The use of these membranes has the purpose of creating a physical barrier in order to prevent fibrous tissue invasion in bone defects. Recently, research using cellulose has developed bioabsorbable membranes which can be used in various situations, particularly for burns and skin wounds, although there are still many questions regarding its behavior in bone tissue. Thus, the objective of this project is to evaluate through histological, immunohistochemistry and histometric analysis the auxiliary potential in guided bone regeneration of Green Tea membrane compared to porcine membrane (Bio-Guide® - Geistlich) and to a control group only with clot in the repair process of critical bone defects 8mm in calvaria of rats at 7,15, 30 and 60 days.
