Abstract

As part of the thematic project, four surveys with different experimental designs, informative videos used as preparatory procedures for dental patients teens / adults who needed extraction of the third permanent molar. The presentation of videos with procedural and / or sensory information prior to the completion of extraction. In the four studies conducted stakeholder groups were not divided, considering the number of teeth to be extracted. There was no direct observation of management strategies Dental Surgeon behaviors during Exodontia third molar. Objective: The objective will be to identify the effect of preparatory videos on anxiety of patients undergoing extraction of different amounts of third molars and also investigate the interaction between Surgeon Dentist and patient at the time of surgery can also have an effect on anxiety levels of the patient. Material and Methods: 40 participants, regardless of gender, 14-24 years are allocated into groups depending on the number of extracted teeth from 1 to 4 teeth (10 participants for each group). For all the Experimental Delineation groups will be subdivided into the following phases: Screening (Initial Interview, Pre-Surgical I and audiovisual resource); Extraction (Pre-Surgical and Surgical II); and Suture (Suture Removal). The Initial Interview will present open and closed questions about habits, dental experience and drug use history. The Pre-Surgical I times, Pre-Surgical II and Suture Removal involve application of Trait Anxiety Inventory-State (STAI) and moento Surgical involve direct observation and recording of an observation protocol regarding the interaction between Surgeon Dentist and Patient. The audio-visual feature of the third molar extraction will also be presented to all groups and immediately after watching the video, patients respond to the Questionnaire for Evaluation of Video News. Results: The data obtained by interview, the scores obtained by IDATE and questionnaire tools for informative video evaluation will be analyzed by descriptive analysis, chi-square test, Fisher exact test, analysis of variance with Mixed Models and Tukey-Kramer, considering the level of significance of 5%.
