Abstract

The self-organization of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) using proteins for to build suprastructures has received special attention in the last few years due to the large variety of available components and a large family hybrid material. It is a promising strategy to obtain materials with properties of great scientific and technological interest as optical devices, potential analytical, biosensors, energy storage, drug delivery systems, and high strength materials. There are numerous examples of structured systems employing DNA, proteins, peptides and aminoacids. In this context, the connection between biotechnology with materials chemistry has been beneficial in several technological areas, such as catalysis, health and sensor development. Thus, the present project is focused in the formation of self-assembly of metal nanoparticles (NPs) with cytochrome C protein (Cyt c) in order to obtain spherical supraparticles with a narrow size distribution. Also, it will be analyzed the effect of supraparticle diameters on the assembly conditions. Also establish a protocol by the fabrication of self-assembly of gold nanoparticles on surfaces with the composition (Al2O3, SiO2, Si, polymer), structure and morphology controlled (plates, wires, tubes). In this study, it is expected the controlled synthesis of self-assembly nanoparticles at microscale superstructures with distinct geometries from biological macromolecules. (AU)
