When the novelist writes on the newspaper: study of Proust’s journalistic articles

Abstract

This project is part of a broader research (that included studies, commented translations and comparative analyzes) around newspaper articles Proust - and aims to study not only this important production of the French author, but also the movement and the echoes of journalistic and literary practices between Brazil and France. Thus analyze the conventions and protocols that are part of certain journalistic genres practiced by Proust. We believe that such genres and practices should be investigated in its concrete manifestations, is in the French context, where Proust published either in the Brazilian context, where we find important echoes of these practices. In this sense, we hope to further study the interactions between the press and literature. Through research and translations of newspaper articles Proust, we believe it is possible to address the relationship between literature and media in general - from the problems of a text literary pretensions produced for the short horizon and daily from newspaper columns to issue of circulation of genres and forms in newspapers. Thus, we intend to exchange experiences and results with various ongoing research in Brazil that purport to revisit the corpus of several writers in his productive relationship and problems with journalism. Anyway, proposing studies and translations of news articles Proust hope not only contribute to the development of Proustian studies in Brazil, but also deepen a wide discussion on issues related to the role of the press for the formation and circulation of literature in the nineteenth and XX.
