Abstract

We suggest a study on organic semiconducting heterojunctions based on naphthalene diimides and electron donors such as copper and base-free phthalocyanins. The study englobes the synthesis of naphthalene diimides (NDIs), their spectroscopic characterization, and the preparation of modified electrodes. Furthermore, it comprises the preparation of mixed films containing electron acceptors/donnors over electrodes, using the NDIs and phthalocyanins. These electrodes will be studied by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and direct measurements (polarization curves) in the solid state. The influence of light on the electrical and electrochemical characteristics of such heterojunctions will be verified to estimate their applicability in energy conversion devices.
