Evidence based knowledge on pesticide-effects on pollinators, such as honey bees, has become mandatory in many countries. It is important to establish lines of action approved internationally to provide farmers and policy-makers more information about the applications of pest management programs. The investigation of interference of xenobiotics, like thiamethoxam, on regulation of alternative splicing can be an important way to understand the toxic insult in honey bee. The study of mechanisms of alternative processing of pre-mRNA in neurons, through expression ELAV and Dscam genes, involved in the formation of the complex network nervous system´s can indicate how the insecticide can affect the brain of Apis mellifera and cause behavioral changes.
