Information as an electoral influence factor

Abstract

Research around the elections to the federal legislature are still based on the assumption that Mr establishes a personal relationship with the electorate at the expense of any party placement, in order to remain in power. In the ordinary way, the research sought to identify this relationship through a distributive approach, in which the political practice some kind of constituency service and can thus be elected. One factor overlooked in this debate is the ability of this type of procedure reach a significant portion of the electorate in high-population districts, distributed unevenly over the territory, in a proportional system. It is the assumption that the voter is aware of the approach of parliamentary activity and is able to give him credit for that. There is therefore an informational dimension. The politician who does action have to tell you that this action becomes known to their voters. It can therefore be assumed that this relation between policy and voter some instances is mediated by altering the course of information. The Brazilian this context tends to hinder access to the extent that the population unevenly distributed over the area tends to skew information. Moreover, with high magnitude, the number of involved politicians, both elected, the candidates who are in even greater numbers, multiply the actors involved in an election, making costly evaluation of information by the voter. Thus it becomes important to identify the electoral impact caused by the uneven distribution of information for the legislative elections in Brazil. (AU)
