Abstract The present internship project focuses on the elucidation of species boundaries and population genetics of species complexes within a Neotropical tribe of snakes (Dipsadidae, Xenodontinae,Tachymenini). This proposal has two main objectives: 1) the study of phylogeographic patterns oftwo species complexes that belong to the genus Thamnodynastes, targeting a better resolution oftheir phylogenetic relations as well as clearer taxonomical definitions; and 2) the assemblage of amorphological data set for most members of the tribe Tachymenini. With these results, we expect to enlighten the evolutionary relationships of Tachymenini, within the Xenodontinae radiation. (AU) | |
