Abstract

The main target of this research project is to study Plato's doctrine of anamnesis and the Paradox of Meno, as it is presented in the eponymous dialogue. Divergent readings of this paradox are already clear sign of the relevance of such a research: there are basically an inatism, and a dispositional reading of it. Given that Platonism is still important to contemporary epistemology, we would like to study this paradox by means of two representative interpreters of it: Dominic Scott and Gail Fine. By means of a comparison of their interpretations, we aim at disclosing the major issues connected to this Paradox.
