Abstract

It is well known that the school has an important role regarding the formation of the individual. In the Brazilian context, the legislation demands that the school provides subsidies either regarding the workup training and the practice of citizenship and work guidance. Several surveys, notably in the international context, pointed out the benefits of socio-emotional and career skills for the human and nation development, thereby contributing to the implementation of public policies. Thus, this research project aims to shape and evaluate a program (Edu-Car) aimed at the improvement and development of socio-emotional and career skills in elementary school students. This research project is characterized as an action research with quantitative and qualitative approach and pre and post-test design with a control group. The participants will be students of the 1st year of high school at a public school, it is estimated a sample of approximately 100 students. It points out that this project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the FFCLRP and that all care concerning the participation of the subjects in this research action will be taken. Intervention will be held in classrooms. The instruments, Social and Emotional or Non-cognitive Nationwide Assessment (SENNA) and Career Education Questionnaire (CSF) will be used for the evaluation of socio-emotional skills and career skills respectively, as pre and post-test. Statistics, descriptive and inferential analysis will be used. The students' records will be used for qualitative analysis. It is expected to contribute to education with the development of the program (Edu-Car), for the training of students in relation to the improvement and development of socio-emotional and career skills.Keywords: socio-emotional skills, education for career, evaluation of the intervention.
