This project aims to deepen the study of evolutionary microeconomics to be used as a theoretical framework to characterize and understand the productive structure of the Brazilian industry. Within the evolutionary theory, the characterization of the productive structure of the industry intends to identify patterns and other existing regularities in the domestic industry, patterns that the international literature shows as persistent in various industries, economies and time periods. Thus, the research aims to understand the economic dynamics reflected in patterns of innovation, economic growth and overall, in a set of change processes that occur within firms and in their interactions with the market, admitting the existence of heterogeneity and asymmetries in and between the different productive sectors of the economy.Through this research abroad, there is also the goal of specializing in the most current techniques - also in this evolutionary context - to perform empirical studes based on longitudinal data at the level of firms: Microeconometrics and non-parametric techniques; techniques that require further research and expertise for performing empirical studies under the theoretical context herein. Thus, the transfer of knowledge resulting from the execution of this research abroad will allow: a) the inclusion of the applicant in the research lines of Evolutionary Economics and Applied Industrial Dynamics; b) the most active and meaningful participation of the researcher in the area mentioned by means of knowledge transfer between the research institutions involved; c) the transfer of knowledge in the general academic community through the development of thematic research projects, training of researchers and scientific production; d) the strengthening of relations of cooperation between the academic institutions involved and consequently e) the active participation in the university's internationalization process.
