Abstract

This project, developed from research conducted during the Scientific Initiation (FAPESP, 2013), aims to examine the resonances of Fernando Pessoa's poetic of simulation in the poetry of Jorge de Sena. It identifies and analyzes that moments when the poetics of Sena's testimony manifests itself, on the one hand, as a refusal to the notion of artificialness, related to the use of "masks" and the consequent aesthetical emotions, as well as those, on the other hand, grasps the lesson of Pessoa's poetry (and subject) as a language object. Through the confrontation between both poetics, we intend to articulate the different types of Sena's writing, seeking accompany him in his path as a reader, critic and poet. Therefore, we depart from the following books: his studies collected in Fernando Pessoa & Cª heteronymous (1982); Poetry-I (1961), a title that brings together the first five books of poems Sena; and the "Preface" (1960) Poetry-I, self-explanatory text about his concept of poetry.
